Q. Referencing a book

Referencing a book
I need to reference a book for my project. Do you know if I need to include the author's first name as well?

If you are using the Harvard referencing style or the APA referencing system, you will need to include the author’s surname followed by the first initial when you are adding the resource to the reference list. The in-text citation will only need the author’s surname. Most courses use the Harvard referencing style but it is best to double check with your tutor which style you are using, especially if you are on a course accredited by a university. Please find links to Sheffield Hallam University’s APA guide and Hull University’s Harvard guide for information. If you are an FE student, you will most likely find it useful to use the guide attached.
