Borrowing, returning and fines

You can borrow several books at the same time for your assignments.  For HE students this is 15 items.  For FE students including Access to HE it is 10 items.  Below are all the details.  You can renew items meaning you have them for another 3 weeks or 7 days depending on the loan.  Sometimes this will not be possible if a book has been requested by another student.

Overdue and damaged items

If you have overdue items and are concerned about the fine, please speak to a library member of staff to resolve the issue. If the item has been misplaced or damaged, you may be expected to pay a replacement cost.

You should have received notifications about your overdue Library items.  If your total fines amount to more than £2 you will not be able to renew your loans.

  • 3 week loan - 5p per day per item
  • 7 day loan - 5p per day per item.

Fines are not incurred over weekends or college closure periods. When borrowing items, the return date will exclude student holidays and will roll over to the first week that the college is open after the student break.
